Ghost Blogging or Ghost Blogging?

It occurred to me today that you my readers may be interested in following the fortunes of other start up bloggers like myself. It's not often that we start our journeys in life together - but that is near enough to what has happened with me and 2MG. 

Who (or what) is 2MG you may ask. Well they are fellow bloggers (although one of them has yet to show up for work!) who have their own take on the paranormal. They aren't skeptics as such, more 'curious and out there' where apparitions in life (or should that be death?) are concerned. You can check them out here.

I love their artistry. There is certainly some talent here - and their lighter take on the paranormal is a good foil to my more serious approach. See what you think and even leave them a message here or there. 

Unlike Mike and Andrew at 2MG (the G definitely does NOT count at this point in time), many of the respondents in my original have seen apparitions - in fact multiple apparitions. Maybe it is the case that once we get the hang of it (whatever that means) we are able to see ghosts almost at every turn. Keep going Mike and Andrew. The world needs more ghost hunters - just don't scare them away please. I was going to say that the world needs ghosts. But does it? What do you think?

Ghosts, Spirits, Apparitions

How can we tell if there is an evil spirit or friendly? I think I have two separate entities one older man and children. I was attacked but I rebuked it and hasnt attacked me since is it still here?

Hi Michelle

This is an interesting question that you've asked.

My thoughts are that evil is as evil does.

Which begs the question, are all spirits always one or the other - in all circumstances? Do ghosts have friends, foes, favourites? I suspect they do but I may be wrong.

I'd like to know what others think about this. Has anyone else been attacked?

Paranormal Thesis Finally Catalogued!

My thesis has hit the shelves of the Monash Library. It's the final milestone in the long, drawn-out, formal process that sees an idea become a reality. That's the good news. The bad news is that the whole thesis is only available for viewing on campus. Will there ever be a day (perhaps Google will have to step in?) when all theses are available online? I hope so but it won't happen in the foreseeable future.

Anecdotal reports of paranormal experiences abound. In addition to the numerous books, films and media articles, there is a growing body of personal narratives which is readily accessed through online websites, blogs and chatrooms. By comparison, there is a paucity of documented research on spontaneous parapsychological phenomena in the academic literature. The current exploratory study sought to redress this imbalance by addressing the research problem: what types of paranormal phenomena do people spontaneously encounter, and are there unifying themes in the reports of these experiences?

This research followed the Mixed Methods Research model. Qualitative and quantitative data were gathered via an online survey instrument, which was written in English. Over three thousand (N=3194) self-selecting respondents completed the questionnaire and in total, 59 countries were represented. The majority of the paranormal experients were from the United States of America (N= 1979), Australia (N=485), United Kingdom (N=252), and Canada (N=228). More women (62%) than men participated in the survey, and while the dominant age group was the 18-35 year olds (45%), this was closely followed by the 36-55 year olds (43%).
