With great anticipation I checked the results of the Paranormal Survey that Ive reopened and I'm so thrilled to see that over a thousand people have taken the time to completed the questionnaire. That's a great interim result - and if I recall correctly that's a faster rate than when I began collecting data for my thesis.

Thanks so much to everyone who has contributed. I intend to dip into the survey and bring you snippets from time to time.

Groundswell

Excuse me while I go off the topic for just this post. I've just finished a book and I'd like to recommend it. It's not about the paranormal but I could draw a long bow and say that it is about research.

All this new technology! Are you on top of it? Did I mention how much the internet changes while I had my nose in al those journals dating back decades? Well there's been this explosion of technological connections and I've just finished a great book that has in some ways brought me up to speed with Web 2.0 and social media. If anyone is interested in understanding - rationalizing? - this latest wave (before the next wave arrives) - I'd recommend reading this book. Sure it's a hardback and it's got graphs and statistics and an index and pages of notes in it, but it has so much more. I love the insights it offers.

Anyway, the book is called the Groundswell and the authors are Charlebe Li and Josh Bernoff. They are both from Forrester Research and, as Im a researcher well - that's probably another reason why I really like this book. Having read it, I feel like I've time travelled 5 years in 5 weeks and maybe, just for a moment at the end of the book I was up to speed on the internet. Of course, now Im behind again because the internet is evolving so fast! But at least, for a split second, I did feel I had a handle on what was making cyberspace tick.

Is there a Paranormal Explanation for Past Life Information?

ATTENTION ALL MELBOURNE RESIDENTS:

This inaugural free public lecture and discussion, hosted by the AIPR, will be held in Melbourne, Australia in August 2009.

The guest speaker will be Dr Jurgen Keil, psi researcher and psychologist from the University of Tasmania.

Jurgen's talk will be based on his overseas psi research, including a recent case in Turkey which has strong paranormal elements. Particular attention will be given to the theory that cases such as this one may be the result of anomalous communications rather than reincarnation.

The Original Paranormal Survey is Back by Public Demand

The original parapsychological survey is once again live! It is back by public demand. To get involved - Click here!

The survey was live for three months and during that time over 4,000 completed questionnaires were successfully lodged. And wouldn't you know it, as soon as I closed it the emails started rolling in - asking me to reopen it.

There was a genuine sense of missing out and so I've decided to reopen the survey.

Everything is the same.

Its called "The Nature Incidence & Impact of Spontaneous Paranormal Experiences" and its there for you to record your own experiences. I've set it up so that you can tell as much or as little about your encounters with psi. All you need to do to have your survey count - is to complete the questionnaire.

It will take as little as 10 minutes to complete - or longer - depending on how much you write.
